Welcome!

I'm Dr. Christina Smith and I am an adult psychiatrist practicing in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. I created my specialized practice in order to provide the best care and service for my patients. My practice differs from typical group medical practices in that I provide care in a low volume, concierge-type practice, as opposed to a high volume, insurance-driven one. This allows me to provide the highest quality care for my patients. I have fewer patients than an insurance-driven practice, which means I have more time for you. We will have ample time during your visit to discuss your concerns.

My practice specializes in treating anxiety disorders, major depression, and adult ADHD. I understand the unique situation of working professionals and use advanced technologies to offer effective, convenient and time efficient medical care. I have the ability to provide care via telemedicine, which allows patients to be evaluated and receive treatment from the comfort of their home or office. This helps to avoid the bother of a commute, or time spent away from work.

The Difference...

  • Treatment of the whole person, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

  • Convenient and quick access to your doctor through phone or email.

  • Electronic Prescriptions sent directly to your pharmacy

  • Appointments via telemedicine ensure privacy and limit time away from work

  • Online scheduling of follow-up appointments

  • Available Genesight genetic testing to help tailor treatment to you specifically

  • Payment is made directly to your doctor, and you have the choice of whether to file with your insurance company for reimbursement.

 About Dr. Smith

I am a board certified general adult psychiatrist and am trained to use both medication and talk therapy to treat all major psychiatric disorders. I have a special interest in adult ADHD and anxiety disorders, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Panic Disorder and OCD.

I grew up in North Alabama and went to college and medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I did my residency training in psychiatry at UAB, graduating with honors in 2006. I am certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and have been recognized as a Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association. I feel my work in psychiatry is a form of ministry to which I have been called. I have worked in both public and private sector psychiatry before starting my own private practice in 2016.

Schedule An Appointment

I have limited office hours and schedule appointments Tuesday through Thursday between 9:00am and 12:00pm. At this time my clinic is full and I am no longer able to accept new patients. Current patients may use the links above to schedule and manage appointments.

It’s important to note that I do not over book my schedule in anticipation of no-shows or late cancellations. Therefore your appointment time is reserved only for you. If you fail to show for your initial appointment or cancel/reschedule less than 24 business hours in advance, you will be charged for the appointment. If the appointment can be filled with another patient the fee will be waived.

While I do not file insurance or work with insurance companies, I do assist my patients by providing the necessary paperwork to submit to their private insurance carriers for reimbursement. Practicing this way allows me to keep the focus on patient care. Additionally, it ensures complete patient confidentiality for patients who elect not to notify their insurance carriers of provided care.
